]]>Montana retired in 1995, terminating his deal with Kansas City Chiefs prematurely.
“Even to this day I look back and regret that I left the Chiefs even with one year on my contract,” said Montana in a recent chat with USA TODAY Sports, joking that he could have played until 64 if he didn’t have his shoulder replaced.
Being 38 at the time and with already 16 seasons in NFL, he decided his body couldn’t take the toll of playing at the highest level.
“But it was more of a physical thing for me. The injuries that I’d had—the concussion that I had the year before … I made the right decision for me at the time,” he added.
Joe Montana spent two seasons with the Chiefs, leading the franchise to consecutive playoff trips and AFC Championship game in 1994. Kansas City had a talented team back then, so they might had a chance of challenging for a Super Bowl if Montana continued playing.
Still, it was the right choice at the time for Montana, and he is still considered one of the best players in the history of the game regardless.
Chiefs, on the other hand, eventually got their Super Bowl win, although they had to wait 25 years longer for it.

]]>In case that the ban remains until the proposed start of the new season, which should be around Christmas, the only option for Raptors to take part would be finding a temporary home in the United States. And Chiefs’ superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes believes they shouldn’t look further than Kansas City.
Bleacher Report recently shared a report about Raptors’ relocation, writing on Twitter that one of the options is Louisville’s KFC Yum! Center. It didn’t take long for Mahomes to react to the news and propose another solution.
“Bring them to KC!” wrote Mahomes on social media.
As expected, Mahomes’ idea quickly gained significant backing in Kansas City. The proposition even got support from the city’s major Quinton Lucas.
If Mahomes’ idea goes through, it will mark a return of the NBA to Kansas City in more than 35 years. The last NBA franchise to call Kansas City their home were the Kings, who relocated to Sacramento in 1985.

]]>“Kansas City, #ChiefsKingdom, thank you for the opportunity let’s go!” Bell tweeted.
Bell was cut by the Jets after a disappointing tenure in New York that lasted less than two full seasons. Bell and coach Adam Gase appeared to not mesh since the running back signed a four-year, $52.5m contract with $35m guaranteed last year as a free agent.
Bell, who missed three games this season with a hamstring injury, finished with 74 yards on 19 carries and three catches for 39 yards. And there were increasing rumblings that Bell wasn’t happy.
He sat out the entire 2018 season in a contract dispute with the Steelers. He became a free agent and joined the Jets in March 2019 and was expected to be a dynamic presence in Gase’s offense.
Now he joins the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs in a backfield with first-round pick Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who has rushed for 344 yards and has 169 yards receiving in five games.
Bell gives coach Andy Reid another option after postseason star Damien Williams opted out of the season over coronavirus concerns.
