]]>According to the lawsuit, Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, allegedly agreed to stipulations, including, “no more improvising of kissing” and “no more personal, physical touching of, or s—– comments by Mr. Baldoni or Mr. Heath to be tolerated by [Blake Lively] and/or any of her employees, as well as any female cast or crew without their express consent,” as People reported.
The complaint further asserts that after Lively raised concerns about the on-set environment, Baldoni orchestrated a deliberate campaign to damage her public image. According to People, Her complaint included private texts and emails that show crisis PR representatives for Baldoni planning to “[plant] stories about [her] weaponization of feminism” and proceed in “full social account take downs,” by starting “threads of theories” and trying to “change [the] narrative” around Blake Lively’s accusations.
In response to the allegations, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, has categorically denied any wrongdoing, describing the claims as “false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt”, he said in a statement to People.
The legal battle has garnered significant attention within the entertainment industry, prompting reactions from various stakeholders. Colleen Hoover, author of the novel It Ends With Us, publicly expressed her support for Lively, praising her honesty and integrity. In an Instagram post, Hoover stated, “@blakelively, you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met. Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt.”
The controversy has also impacted the film’s production company, Wayfarer Studios. Reports indicate that Baldoni has been dropped by his talent agency, William Morris Endeavor (WME), in light of the allegations, as The Hollywood Reporter reported. Additionally, the planned sequel to It Ends With Us, titled It Starts With Us, has been put on hold indefinitely as the legal proceedings unfold.
According to Variety, It Ends With Us earned $350 million at the worldwide box office. However, following the film’s release, a source told the news outlet, a sequel was unlikely to happen because, “there’s probably no world where these two will work together again.”
