]]>20 years ago, back when Rachel Green (Jennifer Anniston) was the no. 1 influencer, claw clips were the secret to the care-free updo. The half-up/half-down “I woke up like this” do was achieved with a plastic clasp.
Fast-forward to now and hair accessories are mostly absent. Every now and then, headbands or scrunchies will have their moment in the lime light but claw clips have very much become a thing of the past.
At least, that’s what we thought.
This summer, the likes of Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner have posted pictures of themselves rocking the throwback 90s style. Even Hailey Bieber has recreated the Rachel Green look with a cropped cardi and old-school claw clip.
The claw clip can be paired with shorts and a crop top for a styled down, care-free look. It’s a way to add a splash of color to a neutral outfit and quite honestly, we don’t know why the claw clip trend ever got brushed under the carpet.
It’s time to raid your mom’s old box of accessories because the claw clip is here to stay.
