He adds: “Despite how our roots may make us feel, the root is undeniably cool again, hence ‘the return of the root’.”

In fact, the root is so on-trend that people have been paying to deliberately dye their root somewhere between their highlights and their natural color. It definitely increases the gap between dyes and anyway, having natural roots has always been discretely awesome.
