If your favorite part of getting a pedicure is when they use the files to smooth your heels and get rid of your calluses, you will not like what we are about to tell you: you should not be using those files. They are dangerous to your feet and they won’t even help you in the long run. Instead, get your heels looking smooth and healthy the right way.

A lot of people think that if they just shave off the skin their problems will be solved. However, the problem doesn’t disappear with the shaved off skin, it’s the inside of the skin you have to fix. What your feet need more than anything is moisture, and you can give that to them in many different ways.

Moisturize

One of the best things to do is to moisturize your feet with lotion or petroleum jelly before you go to sleep. Make sure to wear pure cotton socks to lock in the moisture, this will also keep your bed from getting messy.

Pumice Stone

You can also soak your feet and then use a pumice stone to gently massage your hard skin. Make sure to moisturize right after. Both of these methods will get your heels looking beautiful just in time for summer.

Everyone struggles with cracked feet and lifeless skin. Just like you treat and pamper your face, the skin on your feet requires attention too. There are so many amazing DIY scrubs that will help you a lot, but this one is the best. The strawberry and sugar foot scrub will improve the circulation, while also making your skin feel like new.

Ingredients:

To make this foot scrub you will need 2 strawberries, 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon olive oil. These three ingredients are easy to find at any store, and you might even already have them at home. It is definitely one of the biggest benefits of the recipe,

How to Make it:

Grab a small bowl and put the strawberries in. Start mashing them and once you’re done add the sugar. Also, add the olive oil and start mixing everything together. When the mixture is ready, you can apply it on the feet with a massaging movement. Leave it on for around 20 minutes. Wash your feet when the time is up.

The biggest benefit of this strawberry and sugar foot scrub is that it prevents the skin and heels to crack. It also has anti-aging properties for the skin. It will only take you five minutes to make it.

Before you step into open-toed footwear it’s necessary to prepare your feet properly. You probably want your feet to look their best in those new sandals, so you’ve gathered a stash of foot creams and masks to help you with that. But before moisturizing the skin, do this simple but very effective DIY scrub with baking soda that will leave the skin on your feet smooth as never before. Here’s the recipe.

Mix 12 cups of hot water (as hot as you can handle) with 5 tablespoons of baking soda. Soak your feet in the mixture and leave for 20 minutes. Prepare a bowl of water and another bowl of baking soda separately. After 20 minutes have passed, take a pumice stone, sponge, or a scrub brush, soak it in the clean water and dip in the baking soda, then scrub your feet. Dry and moisturize.

Repeat this 1-2 times per week.
