Subway and Chipotle have been using this concept for a while, but sit-down fancier restaurants are going to be hopping on this trend. We couldn’t be more excited!
Snacking is pretty much unavoidable, especially when you live a busy lifestyle and you don’t have time for proper meals. Instead of reaching for a bag of chips, candy, or popcorn, puffed and popped snacks and well as protein and plant-based snacks will be the go-to choice.
You may be surprised to find out that around 1.3 billion tons of edible food is thrown away each year. Unfortunately, this is only supposed to increase by 2025 with 2.2 billion to be wasted. Over half of the food trashed is fruits and vegetables because they are thrown away by supermarkets when they don’t look “perfect.” The good news is that governments and organizations have decided to work on changing this this year.
In the past few years, millennials have been all about lowering their alcohol and sugary foods intake, which has led to popularity in non-alcoholic and fermented beverages. Expect to see alcohol still water, a spiked beverage without the fizz, and kombucha taking over the beverage industry.
