In Game of Thrones, Lena Headey’s fierce portrayal of Cersei Lannister is a stark contrast to Emilia Clark’s kind-hearted Daenerys Targaryen. Off-screen though, Headey and Clarke’s relationship good not be more different from that of their characters.

Very recently, Emilia Clarke opened up about her experience of undergoing surgery for two brain aneurysms. The actress penned an essay in which she revealed just how traumatic the experience was for her.

Clarke’s fans all reached out to her to show their support and admiration but Headey shared one particularly special message.

“It took me a while to know this woman (there are 64000 of us after all),” Headey posted on Instagram with a photo of Emilia Clarke. “Not until she spoke to me about her experience did I fully realize the warrior she truly is (MOD for real x209840000) she does really great things for causes that deserve it. She’s kind and determined and funny and aware. #Thursday’s MVP … Here’s to @emilia_clarke .”

Clarke replied: “Lena you bloody hero!!! Thank you!!! From one warrior to another I salute and love you! ”
