Avoid Single-Use Plastic

Single-use plastic items are the first that need to go. From water bottles to straws and bags, think of ways to replace such items with eco-friendly alternatives. Start taking a reusable bag with you when you go grocery shopping, get a reusable cup for water and other drinks, and when you absolutely have to use single-use items, go for those labeled “compostable”.

Support Recycling

There are many companies that use the already accumulated plastic and recycle it to make new, long-lasting products. Make sure you’re supporting such companies so they could continue to do the good work.

Avoid Microbeads in Cosmetics

You probably don’t think about this, but many cosmetic products are packed with microbeads that end up going down the drain and into the ocean or our water supply. Pay extra attention to the label next time you’re buying an exfoliator!
