Tight end David Njoku still hasn’t given up on trying to leave Cleveland Browns. According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Njoku still wants Brown to trade him before the trade deadline.

Njoku already made a trade request during the offseason, but the Browns managed to convince him to stay. Still, it appears that the 24-year-old Njoku isn’t convinced with his role as No.2 TE behind Pro Bowler Austin Hooper and would like to go somewhere where he would receive an expanded role.

Njoku, who missed three games due to a wrist injury, played only 61 snaps in 2020 so far. He was targeted seven times, getting five receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown.

Cleveland reportedly still doesn’t want to move on from David Njoku, despite the fact that Hooper has the starting position locked while rookie Harrison Bryant looked well while on the field. It is believed that the only way Browns would deal Njoku is if they receive “an offer they can’t refuse.”

Injuries have depleted Browns in secondary and on linebacker position, so if they get offered a starter in this department, Njoku will most likely be free to go.

Njoku, who was Browns’ first-round pick in 2017, has 93 career receptions for 1,066 yards and nine touchdowns.
