Why do so many of us criticize the way we look on a daily basis? In fact, a majority of people dislike their bodies; market research from Ipsos showed that 83% of American women and 74% of American men are dissatisfied with the way they look. The good news is there are ways to start loving your bodies and they’re as easy as changing your lifestyle.

Celebrate What You Love

Our bodies are capable of doing many amazing things and it’s about time we started appreciating it for all it does for us. Your legs may be bigger than you’d like, but they help you get to all the places you need to get to throughout the day.

Avoid Triggers

Instagram can be a great tool for connecting people, but it also gives an unrealistic view of what normal people look like as many of the photos posted have been photoshopped or filters have been applied. Follow accounts that make you feel good about yourself. Other common triggers include celebrity images and the dreaded scale. Stop obsessing about trying to reach a number on the scale, after all, it’s just a number.

Donate Clothes That Don’t Fit

We’re all guilty of keeping clothes in our closets for when we finally lose that extra 15 pounds. Instead, donate these clothes to someone who can make good use of them and buy new clothes that make you feel confident and good about yourself.
