Trains are a really fantastic way to travel, especially if you’re in a new country. You not only get to bring as much luggage as you want onto the train with no security lines, but the route to your destination will likely be through beautiful countrysides with stunning scenery. But, train rides can be long, and if you want to make the most of it, it’s best to come prepared.

Liquids

One of the amazing things about traveling on a train is that you can bring as many liquids as you like. Make sure you’re bringing enough water to last you your whole trip, which for a 12-hour trip is at least 2 liters. You probably won’t be able to refill your water bottle, so come prepared.

Clothes

With trains, you never know if it’s going to be hot or cold, so make sure you dress in layers so you can be most comfortable with the climate. Also, bring a pillowcase with you and stuff your layers into it to make a makeshift pillow.

Stretch

Even if your train doesn’t make many stops, make sure to get up and walk around as often as you can; step outside even for a few seconds and do some jumping jacks to keep your blood flowing.
