]]>The 33-year-old Cejudo made a surprising retirement announcement back in May, saying that he achieved enough and doesn’t want to fight anymore. But it didn’t take him long to backtrack on his initial statement and starts flirting with a comeback.
After previously hinting that he is considering un-retirement, Cejudo now openly called for UFC to lure him back with a big offer.
“If that lucky number does come up, I’ll be back this year if they want,” said Cejudo. “I’m in shape, I’m ready for anything. But I ain’t doing it just because people want to see me fight. I’m doing it because it makes sense for me financially.”
Cejudo has been advocating for a fight against current featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski if he ends up returning to UFC. It is unclear whether the promotion would be interested in this event, but it’s something MMA fans would definitely love to see.
Henry Cejudo’s last fight in UFC was a TKO win against Dominick Cruz with which he defended Bantamweight Championship. Cejudo, who held both UFC Flyweight and Bantamweight belt at one point, retired with an 18-2 record.
