If you’re addicted to social media and your phone, you will find this article very relatable. Have you ever heard of phubbing?
Phubbing is, in fact, the phenomenon of using your phone while in the middle of a conversation with another person. While it may seem naive and harmless, its effects are actually bigger than the first look reveals.
The research conducted by Baylor University included 145 couples and the results have shown that phubbing causes depression and affects interpersonal relations and romantic relationships in a negative way.
And you have probably felt this, too. When you’re talking to someone and they are constantly grabbing their phone and replying to messages, don’t you feel ignored and annoyed?
To prevent the harmful effects of phubbing, just leave your phone aside and focus on the people in the same room. Social media and texts can wait.
