Chia Seeds – Food Heals. Chi chi chia! I am pretty sure if you have followed along on my insta for a bit, you know I LOVE my CHIA! There are so many reasons to love it! Top 3 are their macros- plant protein, high fiber, and loaded with omega 3, the healthy fat we all need to consume more! Just when we thought YAS, these seeds are AMAZING… they get better! They are tiny nutrient superhouses! Packed full of minerals and vitamins! But back to the Omega 3, by now most of us know that our diets are full of Omega 6. Omega 6 is an essential fatty acid (EFA) as well, but we get too much of it! Too much of this EFA causes inflammation in the body and more! As we know that inflammation is usually at the root cause of all disease, including heart disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, arthritis, Alzheimer's, cancer, and more! So by upping our Omega 3 intake (and by lowering Omega 6 sources, like avoiding vegetable oils), we can start to balance the ratio in favor of more Omega 3 in the body! You will notice amazing things when this balance is in favor of Omega 3, as inflammation in the body will REDUCE DRASTICALLY! If you already have been diagnosed with an inflammatory condition or any disease for that matter, I highly suggest paying close attention. Now for a few benefits that you are sure to notice – -improved cognitive function, think brain health and better learning ability -improved insulin resistance, which can help you to avoid type 2 diabetes -reduced LDL (bad cholesterol) increased HDL ( the good stuff!) -reduce inflammation, thereby helping any inflammatory condition, think arthritis, asthma, autoimmune disease, and more. -reduce high blood pressure -less swelling -better vision/eye health -more energy -softer skin -and more! Now, who is off to make themselves a chia pudding! I know I am! . . . . . #omega3 #nutritionfacts #antiinflammatory #chiaseeds #chiapudding #foodasmedicine #holistichealth #holistichealing #holisticnutritionist #find_wellness

What Is Seed Cycling?

This is a very healthy way to achieve hormonal balance with the use of the ingredients found in seeds. It can significantly help with irregular periods, boost fertility, and is beneficial for women who are struggling with conditions such as cystic ovaries, endometriosis, and more.

The process is very easy and literally, anyone can do it. You should do it in two phases that are connected to your monthly cycle. The cycle should last 28 days, but not all women have the same experience. If your cycle lasts longer, simply divide it into two halves.

During the first phase called follicular (day 1- day 14) your estrogen levels are high. It starts on the same day as your period. You should eat 1 tablespoon of pumpkin seeds and 1 tablespoon of freshly ground flaxseed each day during these two weeks.

The second, luteal phase (day 15- day 28), is when your progesterone is high. Eat 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds and 1 tablespoon of freshly ground sesame seeds each day of the second phase.
