Eye Breaks Are a Must if You Work at a Computer

We all know that sitting and working at a computer all day isn’t exactly the healthiest thing you can do. For that reason, people do all sorts of various things to try to counteract the negative impacts of desk work, ranging from desk yoga to standing desks to walking meetings. And all of those things are great for your body, but one thing people tend to neglect is the health of their eyes.

After all, staring at a screen for hour after hour for an entire full-time workweek isn’t good for your peepers. In fact, it can cause eye strain, which is when your eyes get tired from intense use.

There are a few things you can do to avoid eye strain at work, and the best one is taking eye breaks. To do this, follow the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, take an eye break to look at something 20 feet away from you for at least 20 seconds.

If you have a hard time to remember taking your eye breaks, you can download an app like Eye Reminder to your work computer, which will send you a notification to remind you to do it. It’s so easy to do and will really help your eye health and vision. No excuses!
