Eating Dark Chocolate Could Improve Your Workout

You never would’ve imagined that dark chocolate and fitness could go together. However, they appear to go pair together quite well.

Brothers Ryan and Eric Johnson, the owners of Homage Fitness gyms, claim that dark chocolate could be the key ingredient to a quality workout. The two of them claim to eat quality dark chocolate 10 to 15 minutes before they workout. They even advise their clients to eat dark chocolate before a gym session!

The Johnson brothers are experienced personal trainers and they’ve been in the fitness industry for more than a decade. Eric even worked with famous actress Scarlett Johansson and prepared her for movies “Captain America: Winter Soldier,” “Ghost in The Shell,” and ” Avengers: Endgame.”

Besides for being extremely delicious, dark chocolate is known to have physiological and psychological benefits such as releasing dopamine, which can help build muscle.

“[Chocolate] creates this positive feedback loop with your brain — now that you’re getting this piece of chocolate before your workout, you’re creating a positive association with your training session and you’re getting more excited to get to the gym… you have something to look forward to”, Ryan said.
