3 Secrets to a Better Night’s Sleep

Anyone who’s pulled an allnighter or stayed up all night partying knows how important a good night’s sleep is. Sleep has so many effects on your health – everything from your emotions and concentration to your appetite and muscles. If you’re having trouble sleeping, here are three ways to help you get the shut-eye you deserve.

Organize Your Bedroom

For many of us, our bedroom is the messiest room in our house. Not only do we have clothes piled everywhere, but it’s also where junk accumulates. The key to getting a good night’s sleep may be as easy as organizing your bedroom.

Turn Off All Electricity

Your cell phone and the television omit lights that make it difficult for the sleep hormone, melatonin to determine that it’s nighttime. It’s best to stay away from these things a couple of hours before bed. If this isn’t doable for you, at least dim the lights in your home and close your blinds.

Change Your PJs

Super fuzzy fleece pajamas seem like a good idea at the time, but they can throw off your body temperature during your sleep. Try cotton pajamas or an oversized tee. Also, choose bedding that’s breathable like linen, barley, or cotton.
